MY NOTE OF AGE OF WONDERS

WHAT A GAME, my favorite PC game of all time. I really do not believe I could say that I have a favorite PC game than this... honestly, I mean this is just such an incredible game with all the mystical beings, use of magic, the interesting slight RPG form in this strategy tactical game.

Age of Wonders features 12 elite races that each have their own strengths and weaknesses, and they are explained throughly in my Races section. The graphics of Age of Wonders are VERY special, the tactical battles some people complain that the units are too small, but I find that it is more unique having them easier to see as your own little group/army.

The replay value is vast in Age of Wonders, you can conquer the whole scenario... actually get attached to your great leader and armies... but once the scenario is over, it is OVER, meaning you no longer play as your characters. Why is there replay value? Because there are so many other scenarios and characters to build up in other AoW game files!

Age of Wonders II is an embarrassment to it's father, Age of Wonders I. People give Age of Wonders II much credit because of good graphics, I think the graphics are better in AoW than AoW2. Age of Wonders II has focued FAR too much on MAGIC instead of the potential races, taking out that spark of fun that makes Age of Wonders one of the best games I have ever seen. A sequel does not always prove it's ancestor proud ;).

My opinion you ask for upon buying Age of Wonders? Buy Age of Wonders immediately, for at most places the actual pricing is like $10... which is sad because it is a great game, but as usual... there is always a game that people do not go for and it does not get the popularity that it deserves... but ON GAME AMAZON IT DOES, JUST LIKE OTHER GAMES! :)

Age of Wonders came out in 1999, it is an actual "old PC game" as people say, but it fares way better than it's newer version of Age of Wonders II. I would highly recommend to buy Age of Wonders if you like strategy, and do not buy Age of Wonders II.
