Diplomacy

Diplomacy... one of the most grand things known to mankind for co-existing with each other, or surviving with each other. Point being, Diplomacy can play a huge part in Civilization II.

Emperor Mao Tse Tung of the Chinese obviously has some type of message for us, let's always choose YES so they won't attack us.

You will be presented to a menu with a figure of their nationality, and they will have a second message after the first.

They have made a demand on us! Well we're not going to fall to their petty demands.

FOOLISH CHINESE DARE DECLARE WAR ON US! Their reputation goes down for this, as we shall fight! At other times you won't always go to war though with civilizations, some are more aggressive than others. If you want to avoid war and be petty, then by all means accept their demands, but it's not good to bow down to the demands of another liberation.

Sometimes civilizations will gift you if you make demands on them, but be warned, they don't bow down easily!
