Rules of Craps
In craps, there are many players and two dealers, who take bets, pay out winners and accept payments from losing bets. It’s important to know the terms long before you start to play, as there are a lot of them. You can tell if a game is in action by the marker. The marker shows the stage the game is in. The player hasn’t made a point if the marker is black with the word “off”. If it’s white, and says “on”, you should see a number, or the point, rolled by the player.
The game starts with the pass line bet, which is the bet made before the first roll. The player pays even money on the bet beforehand as well. Once the bet is established, the player rolls the come out roll, which is the first roll in a new game. If the dice comes up 7 or 11, they win! However, if you roll a 2, 3 or 12, you lose. Each of the other numbers become established as a point, and allows them to continue. If the player rolls again, and roll a 7, they lose. If the player rolls their point number, he wins.
A come bet can be made after the come out roll, and allows you to get additional bets and numbers. You simply place your come bet, set the money and roll the dice. Your come bet will convert to the point number you rolled, earning you additional bets. In a similar bet, called the don’t bet pass, you make your bet, and try to roll a 2 or 3. If you roll a 7 or 11, you lose. If you roll a different number, it’s your point and you roll again. You win if you roll a 7, and lose if it’s your point number.
You can make an odds bet, which can be made along with the don’t pass line bet, don’t come bet, come bet and pass line bet. It allows you to support the earlier bet, as well as win a higher amount, which depends on the number you bet on.
Other bet types include the field bet, which can be made at any point in online craps and offers a higher payout for 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11. If you roll 5, 6, 7, 8 it’s a loss, but it doubles for 2 and 12. You can also place pace bets for a roll of 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10 before a roll of 7.
