The Horadic Cube
The Horadic Cube is a very special item in Diablo II. You find it when you get to Level 3 of the Halls of the Dead in Act 2 in a treasure chest. The cube has a few serious uses that should be noted.
Originally this Cube is used
for a quest in Act 2 in order to make the "Horadic Staff" from the
Staff of Kings, and the Claw Viper Amulet. The Cube has the power of
"transmuting" and it has other "recipes" which will be
listed further down on this page. *Note*
There is a possibility in further Blizzard Patches of Diablo II that some of
these Horadic Cube Recipes may not work, so just stating that.
The inside of the Cube, has
two purposes. By many, the cube is used for extra storage, due to the fact that
although the Cube takes up space in your stash, it is actually more than DOUBLE
the space inside. I personally use the Cube for extra storage, but others use it
for the recipes.
I would like to bring up a few of the recipes, and please note there are many other recipes and could be future recipes on upcoming patches of Diablo II. I just prefer to bring up the ones that really only matter.
1. Two quivers of arrows transmuted creatues one quiver of bolts, while two quivers of bolts transmuted creates one quiver of arrows!
2. Three Rejuvation potions transmuted creates one Full Rejuvation potion, and let it be known that a Full Rejuvation potion is the most important healing item out of all of the pots! Also three Mana Pots <same type>, three healing pots <same type> and one gem <any type> will make a Full Rejuvation potion!
3. Three of the same gem quality <Chipped, Flawed, Regular, Flawless, or even Perfect> and one sword type weapon create a higher upgrade of that weapon. This is how people create "Cruel" type weapons, but it is semi complicated and could take eight hundred chipped gems to create an average Cruel Colossus Blade!
4. Three Magical Rings will make a randomized Magical Amulet! HIGHER LEVEL CHARACTERS WILL GET A BETTER AMULET!
5. Three Magical Amulets will make a randomized Magical Ring! HIGHER LEVEL CHARACTERS WILL GET A BETTER RING!
6. Three Perfect Skulls, One Rare Item, and one Stone of Jordan will add a Socket to the rare item, which is quite valuable if you have used up your Socket Quests in act five... but using a Stone of Jordan is quite hard to bear...
7. Three Perfect Gems and one Charm transmuted creates a new Charm!
8. Three Perfect Gems and one Jewel transmuted creates a new Jewel!
9. Three Chipped Gems transmuted creates one Flawed Gem. Three Flawed Gems creates a Regular Gem, and so on...
