Classes
These are the Classes that you can be in Final Fantasy Tactics! The Females shall come after the Male classes. Also, I have a FFT class rating system here. 0 is the worst, and 5 is the best.
SQUIRE




Squires are the starting of classes, young and ambitious yet they suck if you aren't Ramza. They can use Morning Stars, Knives and Swords, but not Knight Swords and can only wear Clothes/Hats.

KNIGHT




Knights, strong, bold, noble, and their BATTLE ART is great for cutting down enemies' stats in battle, also I vote the Female Knight as the #1 best looking generic sprite in FFT! Knights can wear armors/robes, use Swords and Knight Swords. Generic wise,... Two Hands, HP Restore, Chaos Blade, Grand Helmet, Maximillian, Bracer, and a Mastered Knight... I feel Knights with these stats are perhaps the best meleer or one of the best in the game... and maybe, just maybe being the best class in the game.

CHEMIST




Chemists... never thought you would have to train as a class just to use ITEMS eh? Well it's true. To use items you buy in shops to heal/cure etc ... you must have Chemist item skills learned, also as your secondary skill as Item as well. Chemists can use Guns, Daggers, Clothes and Hats. Chemists are good for Gun, however I just train my guys as a Chemist for enough JP for only a certain item I feel I need not to waste any levels on a Chemist. Chemist may be nice, but they are easy to kill.

ARCHER




Archers are underrated. If you teach them SHORT CHARGE, their moves can be very deadly and powerful, not to mention on cliffs and mountains shooting from above, and even on flat terrain, especially with a Persus Bow. Archers aren't HUGELY effective!

MONK




Monks are very efficient and good. Naturally strong with their fists, and their abilities are actually VERY helpful. They can cause abnormal status with their fists, heal wounds, even REVIVE the dead, THEY CAN EVEN CURE ABNORMAL STATUS! ANDDD... they can at the SAME TIME be an incredibly powerful offensive fighter. Monks cannot use armor which is a pity, but despite that weakness, Monks are one of the best in FFT.

PRIEST




Priests are the super healers of the game!! They really are the super healers of the game with their uber Cure4 and so on, especially with Short Charge. Well point being, Priests can use Staffs, Robes and Hats. They are very useful in casting, but there is that unique thing about FFT, the secondary ability. Priest can cast powerful secondary Black Magic, which is a Wizard. Imagine a Fire4/Bolt4/Ice4 casting Priest!! PHEW! The possibilities.

WIZARD




Wizard is just like Priest in magic wise, secondary if a Wizard has White Magic he can be a great Cure4 caster. But let's not go by secondary skills. Wizard is an extremely powerful spellcaster, it is a wonder on who is better in magic power, Summoner or Wizard. Wizard can pack some serious elemental and other types of damage! They can use Rods, Hats, and Robes. I personally, if I would use a class of magic, would be Priest, not Wizard though/

TIME MAGE




I admit, Time Mages LOOK great also, surely not as good as Wizards/Priests... HOWEVER, Time Mages are more of a SUPPORT class and WEAKENING type. They can cast HASTE which can be very effective in battles, and SLOW is extremely nice if it works on enemies. Also, Demi and Meteor can be good for some powerful offense, but takes a little time to charge. Overall, Time Mages are okay!

SUMMONER




Summoners... deadly, the skill bearer of Short Charge, and perhaps has the most powerful offensive magic in the game, especially if one has Zodiac. Despite their summons taking FOREVER to summon, when summoned, they can damage like most of your enemies at once with a LARGE terrain radius of damage! But ALSO, one UNIQUE thing about Summoners unlike other magic classes... when you cast the spells, if an enemy runs up to you and attacks or such, no matter what, even if you begin to cast a summon right at front of your party at the enemy, the summon will NOT damage your group. To me, that makes Summoners real effective right there. Summoners are real good!

THIEF




Thieves... slick, quick, speedy and extremely agile... they have the Move+2 and Jump+2 moves which are real nice to gain. Actually, despite their stealing of Weapon/Armor which is great for gaining certain equipment in the game, example being against Elmdor for his Genji gear, thieves have one more unique stealing move, Steal Heart. Steal Heart charms your enemy of the opposite sex, and I have found it works like a LOT, like usually over 60% or even 70%. Really nice move, and quite a nice class, though I have seen alot of Thieves easily get slaughtered in melee, be aware with them! Thieves are good.

MEDIATOR




Mediators use Talk Skill, which enables them to get into their unit's mind, discuss, explain, cause trouble, and good things for their comrades. Also, their PRAISE And PREACH skills are what really makes them shine. If used successful on themselves or an ally, the used on will gain 4+ to that attribute <Faith or Brave> and 1+ permanently! Mediators have the EQUIP GUN command, imagine Wizards using Guns o_O. Mediators can use Guns, Knives, Clothes and Hats. They are not bad!

ORACLE




Oracles... use Yin Yang Magic, which is a complexity of magic that causes abnormal status against enemies. They CAN be useful, though I have not found too much use for them in my adventures. Silence is a good spell they have however against Magic Casting types! Other than that, Oracles are... fair.

GEOMANCER

Geomancers... thought of as actual spell casters, but they are not exactly. They use the earth's surface to use their magic in the realization of good and bad luck, they can even use Swords! However... Geomancers can only use their specific move learned on a certain type of SURFACE... so to me, other than Geomancer's ATTACK UP move, they are the worst class in FFT.

LANCER




Lancers, they use Spears and can JUMP on enemies and damage them. Sometimes this is not good with speedy enemies, but still, Lancers pack QUITE A punch in melee. They are said to be equal in PA and HP growth and are solidified in melee, and spears are quite nice. They can use Spears/Shields/Helmets/Armors. Lancers are versatile too, really are, low speed but versatile with great jump. I concur Lancers as being one of the best classes of FFT.

SAMURAI




Samurais look cool, seem strong and nice! They are eh? Wrong. They have quite some bad life growth, but their PA is good. Their draw out skill is nice but it breaks the sword that you use on! Of course... Two Hands and Meatbone Slash are nice. Overall, Samurais are ok.

NINJA




Ninjas not only have some nice Move/Jump/Speed AND great look, but their Throw Move if you are not fighting enemies with a great shield can be quite effective! Throwing Rune Blade after Rune Blade can be quite fun, and they use TWO weapons at once instead of just one like most do, which is the most "Two Swords" this is that class that that move originates from! Ninjas can use morning stars, and knives, hats and clothes! Ninjas are good!

CALCULATOR

The HAIRCUT the Calculator has to go through is almost as horrifying as their class. Calculators can be powerful if they know magics from Wizard/Priest and such, and also use them in quick succession, sure it is nice, but against a Two Hands Knight they can get OWNED. It's better to have two Calculators than one... so Calculators are okay.

BARD/DANCER




Ahh yes... the PERFORMER TYPES, as I call them, lol. They each have a different class, yes, a Male is not going to dance as a woman is not going to sing, so FFT made it the female being the Dancer as the male being the Bard. I'll get down to the complete point that Dancers and Bards have terrible stat growths, HOWEVER Bard and Dancers have a unique thing other than their odd moves in battle, Bard has Move+3 and Dancer has Jump+3. THAT is what is effective, but other than that, they both have the same rating, terrible.

MIME

............... I did not think FFT would get any more unorthodox after I saw Bards/Dancers and Calculators ...... but nooo... I was wroooong.... Mimes... actually have an incredible PA/HP growth if you have PLAYED WITH THEM UNTIL LEVEL 99, what a waste of a class. I really hate Mimes too, I never thought I saw anyone weirder than these guys. My goodness >_< however despite that, their talents... one talent, to MIMIC what their enemies do. If you attack a Mime with a Chaos Blade, he/she attacks you with a Chaos Blade. Not only perhaps cheap, but a bit stupid to me. Mimes... not to mention they cannot have any secondary/action or support moves on. ...Mimes, phew, odd yet "poor".
