FFT's Legacy

What a legacy indeed... Final Fantasy Tactics, being released in 1997. Final Fantasy Tactics was different compared to all of the other FF's, especially the FF's that came after FFT and FF7. Strategy. Yes, strategy, an rpg-strategy to be precise. Quite an incredible story, great gameplay, powerful classes and a solid game interface. No real bugs I could find in it... not to mention some nice characters.

FFT also has incredible fun qualities, though I always complain that FFT should have had more than 16 ally slots, nevertheless, we deal with it! I rated FFT as the #9 best game ever on my www.gamelegacies.com/30best.html section as has been said many times.

My Paulos, with his allies on Mandalia Planes... god I love this game. It's like the Super Mario out of PS one games, you never seem to bore of it's QUALITY and the AMOUNT that it contains! SUCH FUN, and especially where you can just explore/adventure without being effected by the line of time... you can even age Ramza up to 99+ and no one will ever die, it is truly a magnificent game.

But what exactly makes FFT really glow? Actually other than the prize of comparing to FF7 and the so on FF games that I feel FFT is BETTER than them, FFT holds so many barriers of fun gameplay. FFT is a game that is "FAR" from tedious, especially with the Gameshark.

Why so into the gameshark? Because you can make your generic characters into characters that were in battles such as Zalbag, Dycedarg, and they can be on your team like the real ones! I just feel the Gameshark is a SEVERE enhancement to your imagination when it  comes to fft.

Many aspects of FFT that can be reviewed and thought about. For example, the story, the Zodiac Brave Story. You start out as Ramza, with Delita *the little..runt* and your team of Cadets. You must protect the town of Gariland from thieves that have stolen some things. I doubt you will lose that battle, which you will defeat them, then you go throughout the game leveling up on random battles *that's what most people do*, and the game itself... is measured by the JOB system.

Yes, your character can be any class if it's perquisites are fulfilled. For example, to become a Knight, you must be a level 2 Squire. To become a Wizard, you must be a level 2 Chemist. Now, let us set ourselves as a Knight for example... you are a Knight, to become a Monk, you must be a level 2 Knight! Let's go a little advanced, to become a Samurai you must be a Level 3 Knight, Level 4 Monk, and Level 2 Lancer! Yes, the job system is quite nice, although many of us are used to RPGs where you usually stay as one job/class throughout the game, this game really is about creativity, thrill, passion for certain classes, and fun.

SCARY SCARY!! NIGHT SWORD!! :D!

I LOVE KNIGHTS!! :)!

The combat is created like usual strategy games, panels to walk on in a certain field, not too large of an area, large enough for combat. Meleeing, magic, healing and such can all be done on it. Sometimes training is important on certain skills you may need, and you may want to do it on someone who you enjoy as a certain class instead of the certain class you're trying to get the skill on, for example, Bard's Move+3, or Calculator's Gained EXP Up move. That's what I use the World Debug code Gameshark wise. However if you do not want to use the Gameshark, other than Generic Characters doing jobs as the class you want the skill on, the only other way to do it is to go into battle, fight as the character or heal opponents/allies with potion or use your skills/moves as that specific class to gain JP. This is what you do with all characters.

FFT is no doubt a game that has sealed a true legacy in gameplay, definitely in rpgs... but... truly, in my opinion, also in strategies.

Now that's some MEGA Damage. As you see my Knight Hogan's bar, the 76% and the -999 HP. That means if he hits the enemy Vampire, he will reduce 999 HP off of the opponent, which is the MAX HP anyone can have in the game. He's strong I know, he uses Chaos Blade Two Handed, lol. The "PETRIFY" means he has a chance to PETRIFY the opponent if the enemy survives the attack *and gets hit* which he will not survive if he gets hit. Also, the "COUNTER" is the ACTION that the enemy does after your move, like a counter slash, which is known as "Counter". Counter is very big for Humans, which is gained by being a Monk.

OWNED! :)

Dycedarg is charging a spell........

FFT... truly a legacy that shall NEVER... ever be forgotten!!
