Nintendo

The Nintendo-Games: 9- Durability: 3- Fame: 10- Style: 5- Accessories: 5- Grade: B-

The Nintendo, the known, the publicized, the grand Nintendo system that is known for it's many games that may be considered for kids which is a LIE. The Nintendo Entertainment System is what truly began the era of games, for it displayed many of the genres, many possibilities for the future, and a huge list of games which only begun Nintendo's incredible leap into the gaming market. Games... had many games, very good games, some bad, many very good, also home to MARIO and ZELDA games, making it very popular and it's FAME is cemented in those elements. It's style is nothing to die for, and we alllllll know about the DURABILITY of the Nintendo. Easy to break, and the CONSTANT "BLOWING" ON THE CARTRIDGES, the DREADED BLOWING OF THE CARTRIDGES... EGH, this dampens the Nintendo's grade. The Accessories are semi fair, the controller isn't exactly fun to people with huge hands or long fingers. Still, the Nintendo is a cherished console that is one of the best for ENTERTAINMENT.

And now... presenting, the reviews of NINTENDO GAMES!

Bard's Tale- Fun: 6- Gameplay: 7- Graphics: 5- Value: 5- Sound: 5 Grade: C-

Bard's Tale... can be extremely tedious in the beginning, especially depending on how good your group is. Even with my six team group, in one battle they can just be BEATEN by ONE GROUP OF ENEMIES! You have to equip them well and prepare them hard. I do enjoy the GUILD system though, and the fireplace... heh. If you can actually get past the INCREDIBLE DIFFICULTY of this game, it can be rather enjoyable to a point.

Casino Kid- Fun: 7- Gameplay: 7- Graphics: 6- Value: 6- Sound: 3 Grade: B-

THE CASINO KID! To me, this is like a storyline game combined with casino games. Play Poker, Blackjack, and much more, earn $... and HAVE FUN! An underrated game, but like many it's quite a good one! You can save also with the famous game PASSWORD system!

Castlevania- Fun: 8- Gameplay: 6- Graphics: 3- Value: 4- Sound: 5 Grade: B-

The graphics may be semi horrid and the sound is a littlee... choppy at times, though I have found Castlevania to be fun and it's gameplay is very fluid like. I remember this was one of my first games ever, on the Nintendo. I remember when I used to think this was one of the best games ever when I was young. Those were the days.

Castlevania II: Simon's Quest- Fun: 6- Gameplay: 7- Graphics: 2- Value: 3- Sound: 2 Grade: C-

This reminds me of Zelda's sequel, turning the next game into a semi RPG. However, Castlevania II's graphics got even WORSE, sometimes you do not even know what you are doing, and the sound is terrible too. HOWEVER the Gameplay did improve from Castlevania the first, but the fun value has suffered. This game gets a C-.

Crystalis- Fun: 9- Gameplay: 9- Graphics: 5- Value: 7- Sound: 2 Grade: B

One of the first action rpgs to grace the console, I actually played the Gameboy Color version of Crystalis before the Nintendo version. Other than graphics, the game is basically the same on the NES as the GC's version, but that's not the issue... Crystalis showed us how great Action Rpgs can be, slash and hack your enemies while exp rolls in along with money, gain levels, choose the stats you wish to gain, make your life force grow, gain magic... for it's time, a BEAUTIFUL game. Despite the graphics/sound being very weak, the game gains a credible B.

Dr. Mario- Fun: 7- Gameplay: 7- Graphics: 6- Value: 7- Sound: 7 Grade: B

Anyone remember this game? You should, it's one of the most popular puzzle games known to Nintendo. Other than it being Dr. Mario, the gameplay with the puzzle value is QUITE high, it is one of the few games I ever thought that came close to matching Tetris. Dr. Mario can get REALLY intense, and I mean really intense depending on what the speed is, how many viruses there are, and how many mistakes you may make. There is even a 2 player mode... it's a little easy to beat your opponent pending on what puzzle you choose, but it's a good way to hone your skills. Dr. Mario gains a well earned B.

Final Fantasy- Fun: 9- Gameplay: 8- Graphics: 4- Value: 9- Sound: 6 Grade: A-

One of the beginning RPGs that made the genre's history. The question is, is it better than Phantasy Star? The graphics are not as good, but the GAMEPLAY/FUN is better than Phantasy Star. Final Fantasy puts you in control of a group that you make yourself, of four characters who must save the world from evil. Man that is one over used storyline... choose from the Fighter, Red Mage, White Mage, Black Mage, Black Belt, or Thief classes. Enough Mages in this game? There's all types of magic to use, and it is definitely one of the best games for the Nintendo!

Final Fantasy III- Fun: 8- Gameplay: 7- Graphics: 6- Value: 6- Sound: 8 Grade: B

Final Fantasy III does not match Final Fantasy for sure, but what it did was it showed us how much better the Final Fantasy system could be, which promoted to the SNES... which was FF2 and FF3, which were masterpiece of games. ... and this game is where the FF system truly began, gaining a B.

Fire Emblem- Fun: 6- Gameplay: 6- Graphics: 5- Value: 1- Sound: 7 Grade: C-

Can I rate this Japanese game somehow? If I could understand the text I would have been able to figure out the gameplay, but what I did realize is the music and sound is extremely nice, the graphics as figured are a bit weak, and it's hard to follow the story since it's in Japanese. Fire Emblem gets a C-, though if you understand Japanese I think it's a good game.

Fire Emblem Gaiden- Fun: 9- Gameplay: 7- Graphics: 7- Value: 6- Sound: 8 Grade: A-

Mind you, I'm rating the english version... Fire Emblem Gaiden is one of those rpgs that is ADDICTING! Gather a fine army that can promote into other better classes, follow an intriguing storyline, fight NUMEROUS monsters, command your army... WHAT A GAME!! Gets an A-.

The Flintstones: The Rescue of Dino + Hoppy- Fun: 7- Gameplay: 5- Graphics: 6- Value: 5- Sound: 6 Grade: C+

THE FLINTSTONES!! The story is pretty simple, Fred must collect all the pieces of a time machine that will be used to rescue Dino and Hoppy from the evil 30th century zookeeper who stole them to collect them for his prehistoric zoo! Now that's one unusual storyline, and the game plays fairly well, gaining a C+!

Jaws- Fun: 8- Gameplay: 6- Graphics: 5- Value: 9- Sound: 5 Grade: B

JAWS!!! One of the scariest and most spooky movies you can ever see to make sure you never want to go near boats is JAWS... it sure made me be sure I am not going on a boat anytime soon! The Nintendo game of Jaws is quite fun, gather shells and score points and defeat Jaws himself, game can be quite easy at times and very enjoyable!

Godzilla- Fun: 7- Gameplay: 8- Graphics: 7- Value: 10- Sound: 8 Grade: A-

Think Jaws is scary? Godzilla could eat him in one bite. Godzilla's legacy for being in a Nintendo game is very underrated and forgotten. "The Earth receives a message from Planet X, declaring war, Godzilla and Mothra must fight against Planet X and the evil monsters that they have employed!!" Very good gameplay and fun, sure it may get a little dull after going through all the maps every minute, but it is still worth a try.

Godzilla II- Fun: 6- Gameplay: 9- Graphics: 8- Value: 9- Sound: 7 Grade: A-

A LITTLE bit less fun than the first Godzilla with better upgraded gameplay. This time you are NOT Godzilla, you are the humans who must battle against Godzilla with tanks, planes, bombers, and even special vehicles at your disposal! You must even fight all the other monsters at times, and in some scenarios... MANY AT ONCE! BIG on strategy and planning, makes Godzilla II a very great game.

Punch Out!- Fun: 9- Gameplay: 8- Graphics: 7- Value: 10- Sound: 6 Grade: B

MIKE TYSON'S PUNCH OUT!! Loads of fun and thrills as you will be LITTLE MAC, the 107 lb junior bamtamweight/strawweight who takes on the heaviest of opponents, and eventually even MIKE TYSON, to become the Boxing Champion of all!!! GOOD LUCK, it's a smooth and fun game that earns a fine B!

Ninja Gaiden- Fun: 8- Gameplay: 8- Graphics: 6- Value: 8- Sound: 8 Grade: A-

Ninja Gaiden... the amount of gameplay is stunning for a Nintendo game. You can slash enemies, climb up walls, swing around, jump all over the place, and have one heck of a time. The storyline has many anime drawn scenes which is quite enjoyable and even at times entrancing, Ninja Gaiden earns a fine A-.

River City Ransom- Fun: 9- Gameplay: 8- Graphics: 5- Value: 8- Sound: 7 Grade: B+

I looove games that you can gather up money in, and this is one of them. Fight crime, take their money, gain experience, get stronger, you can even grab enemy's weapons and pound them! Buy items at shops and restraunets to regain your enemy... AND THERE'S EVEN A TWO PLAYER MODE! What a game, gains a fine B+.

Super Mario Bros- Fun: 9- Gameplay: 5- Graphics: 6- Value: 10- Sound: 7 Grade: B+

Here it is... the game we've all been waiting for, when it came out in 1985... we were stunned, we were shocked... we were flabbergasted at how Nintendo created such a magnificent game... to me, this is one of the games that begun action/adventure gaming. SUPER MARIO BROS... play as Mario 1 player, or with a friend who is 2 player Luigi, you must save Mushroom World from the evil BOWSER and rescue the Princess. Super Mario Bros. of course gets a fine score of B+. Super Mario Bros only has one little problem, it's gameplay has barely any fluid value and at times is difficult to master.

Super Mario Bros II- Fun: 7- Gameplay: 6- Graphics: 7- Value: 8- Sound: 6 Grade: B-

The anticipation was on, for perhaps the greatest game of all time's sequel... and when Suepr Mario Bros. II came out... WE THOUGHT IT WAS WEIRD and odd. I remember so well sooooo many people's opinions about how it failed to continue the legacy of Mario, but that was wrong. Super Mario Bros II may not have been one of the best Mario games, but it does possess something Super Mario Bros does not, fluid gameplay. It is way easier to move the four characters you can play as very easily, even though the difficulty can get tough. The fun value is not as high, and the graphics are a pint better. Super Mario Bros II gets a B-, hey it's hard to live up to being the sequel of one of the best games of all time, especially in the 80s!

Super Mario Bros III- Fun: 10- Gameplay: 9- Graphics: 8- Value: 10- Sound: 9 Grade: A

Second best game of all time, best Mario game of all time, need I say more? I don't think so, if you haven't ever played Super Mario Bros III and you consider yourself a gamer, that's sad. PLAY IT! Super Mario Bros III earns the fine A grade! When SUPER MARIO BROS III came out, gamers quickly forgot about Super Mario Bros II and even SMB the first, as they charged into the eight worlds you could adventure in as Mario and Luigi. You could hold items in this game, visit each part of the map when certain stages were complete, defeat all Bowser's koopa kids... and once again, save the princess. Story getting tedious and old, perhaps, but with the upgrades that Nintendo kept loading into the Mario series... it was no longer a hardship, but a formality. SUPER MARIO BROTHERS III, SECOND BEST GAME OF ALL TIME and the best NINTENDO GAME OF ALL TIME!

The Legend of Zelda- Fun: 9- Gameplay: 8- Graphics: 5- Value: 9- Sound: 8 Grade: B+

The Legend of Zelda... some people say that Zelda is even more fun than the Super Mario Brothers game... now that's an overstatement, yet Zelda possesses a huge amount of fun and fine gameplay that will be cherished for all time. B+ for Zelda the first game.

The Legend of Zelda II- Fun: 10- Gameplay: 9- Graphics: 7- Value: 9- Sound: 9 Grade: A-

Did you expect The Legend of Zelda II to be like the first? Many did, however it was a clear cut example like Crystalis of how GREAT action rpgs can be. Link must set out on his greatest and most dangerous mission to collect the six pieces of the triforce that will awaken Princess Zelda's sleeping spell that has been casted upon her. Gain levels, experience, stats, so you can take on the deadliest of monsters! One of Nintendo's most fun games, earning an A-!
