Here are some hints/codes for Golden Axe II.

Level Select
While the opening screen comes up, at once hold down a, b, c and start. Still holding A at the time, release b and c and press them again! This will bring you to the options screen. Please still hold A,  then let go of the other two, then pick EXIT and press b/c once more. You will be back at the main menu. Now, while you are holding a, release b and c and hit them again to choose the number of players. Keep all buttons held and press start. Release only start and select your character, then still holding down a, b and c, press up and hit start. Now you will be able to select the level you wish to play. I know it is a complex code, but you will get used to it.

Lvl select/8 Lives

With the cursor... go to options sign. Now press and hold A/B/C. In the options screen release only B and C. Now configure game if you want. For having eight credits also *tried to condense the level select code*, the cheat is nearly the game, EXCEPT you must release only A and use the START button to state your selection.
