King's Bounty you say has a brutal trouble however?

Yes, it has a day limit of how long you can play until the king reviews all your doings and rates you with your score of your gameplay. Fortunately, always choosing 900 days insures you quite a LOT of time to explore the map, gain leadership ability and so on.

How are your main characters?

A knight, a paladin, a barbarian or a sorceress, a good selection for your general/leader of the army, and that is all you get of them, only one.

What about the army battling, do they fight too?

Only your army fights against the enemy army!

Recruiting armies are like in Heroes of Might and Magic, the "dwelling" system each week, as they are then refreshed, correct?

Yes, that is correct.

King's Bounty also entitles you to capture villains of the king?

Yes, and doing this will increase your character's fame/abilities and favor with the king.
