Characters

Here are the main characters in LOTR!

Frodo the Hobbit- Played by Elijah Woods, this is one of the main characters of LOTR. He is featured in all the movies, he is known as "THE RING BEARER" and must bring the Ring to Mordor to destroy it.

Samwise the Hobbit- Samwise is another main character, not nearly as popular as Frodo but he is Frodo's closest friend and is with him throughout his entire quest.

Gandalf the Grey *a.k.a. Gandalf the White*- Like Legolas, Gandalf is one of the most popular characters. As the sword/staff wielding Wizard known as Gandalf the Grey, he was also the MOST POPULAR character in the PRELUDE to the Lord of The Rings which was the book of "THE HOBBIT" which was the start of Bilbo Baggins' quest. Gandalf is well known for his grand magic and ability with fighting,  I was surprised when I saw him using a sword and staff at once, what a great combo. After he turns into Gandalf the White he just seems "Pure Good", and of course will fight against the evils of Sauron.

Aragorn the Human- To those who do not like Aragorn, that is just sad. To me, he is the second main character of LOTR. He is a combination of a great Swordsman and a Ranger, you just got to love Aragorn.

Legolas the Elf- I think it is safe to say that Legolas the Elf is the most POPULAR character of LOTR. He has the greatest moves, the greatest combat ability and has never once even missed with his bow and arrow. So while he is defending Helm's Deep with his bow while sliding on a orc shield, stabbing his opponents with an arrow then SHOOTING THEM WITH IT, he's just the best of LOTR.

Gimli the Dwarf- Something I never understood about John Rhys-Davies who played Gimli, or for a part of LOTR... during several interviews of movie characters about LOTR, previews and such, I BARELY saw him in interviews. I am surprised, because he was the most bruteful and strongest physical character of LOTR, especially being able to snap a neck of an orc with one hand. Gimli is was a great add-on to LOTR, who accompanies Aragorn and Legolas on their quest.

Eowyn- Niece of Theodin, who is king of Rohan, a gifted sword maiden who I thought was one of the most important characters in the movie... she did not see enough fighting action however, until Return of the King.

Merry the Hobbit- One of Frodo's Hobbit friends.

Pippin the Hobbit- One of Frodo's Hobbit friends.

Golumn- The famous "MY PRECIOUSSS"... quote comes from Golumn, once a Hobbit, later becoming which I call as "Kobold" thanks to my experiences with AoW. He seeks the ring, and will do anything to get it back.
