Immediately when you start the game, you should go to the upper right corner of the town <The warehouse, a mini dungeon type map> to get 50 mesetas. I always use this to buy actual ITEMS, not saving it up for armor and weapons. Why? Because you need to heal in this game, especially when you're first starting out!

You should go to Suelo's house to get a full healing however when you have finished a few of your large training sessions with Alis, because you definately cannot just run through the whole countryside without gaining a few levels.

The Laconian Pot you get in the town from one of Alis' friends is one of those "Story items" that you need when you are in the attempt to get Myau the Meek to join your team.

Buy a Cola and a Burger from the Item shop with your 50 meseta.

Gain up to 105 mesetas <or more> and a few levels to be able to buy the Leather Shield and Iron Sword from town.
