PS IV's Legacy
Phantasy Star IV... most popular RPG on the Sega Genesis. The year of 1994... a glorious year it was for Sega fans. After the disappointment after PS III was released, people did not like PS III which I understand why, but still I felt it was the best PS. Anyway, so basically I am to "PRESUME" that after PS III, Sega realized how popular that Phantasy Star actually was, but how good it could actually be. In time, the fourth installment was announced and created, many were glorified, yet many remembered the disappointment of PS III so they wondered how it would fare.

The gameplay, the characters, the battle scenes, the colors, and especially the ANIME value was UNBELIEVIBLE. Prices for this game sky rocketed up to $80, I even remember when I was a young boy I saw in a store it being sold for $80, and I was lucky a month later that my parents had gotten it for $20 cheap!! I (V) my parents :-P! Anyway, I played it for like months actually I will be honest, when I was younger I analyzed through a game, leveled up very high in the beginning stages of the game so I had no real problems in the game or the game was not challenging in battles due to Chaz being LEVEL 40 when he fought Zio for the first time when Alys fell... when Alys died, phew I was depressed, but that's another story lol.
Phantasy Star IV as you all know, was on the Sega Channel like all the other earlier 90s games and even late 80s games were on the Sega Channel. I've always said one thing for sure, the Sega Channel was truly a remarkable thing due to you being able to see all the old games and play them to remember them, no matter how old they were! I had played all my Phantasy Stars on the Sega Channel, PS IV being the first PS I ever had played on the channel as well after later on my parents had gotten it for me.
I need to count, but I think Phantasy Star IV consists of over 200+ anime photos or more, not to mention some impressive dialogue along with nice characters. Sure I did not like every character, but now ten years later they look even better from when they did back then, especially Rune and Alys.
Oh Phantasy Star IV, the last final installment of Sega Genesis... what a pity they did not create a Phantasy Star V! It would have been nice, because PSO is a joke to the PS series. PS is one of those series that though the name of Phantasy Star could sell games such as Phantasy Star Online has, it's just one of those series that should have just remained untouched as originals, not updated nor added onto, of course Gameboy Advance version of Phantasy Star placing Phantasy Star I/II and III was QUITE commendable, for it did not feature IV! Showing that even without the popular IV they still sold much due to the NAME Of Phantasy Star... let us never forget, Phantasy Star IV's Legacy, and especially not Alys Braigwin, best character in PS IV... including Chaz Ashley... "The Hunters".
