My Story of Rings of Power

I will explain hereon my personal experience of Rings of Power. *a few spoilers of gameplay is in this story, read at your own risk*

Surely the classic Sega players of the middle 90s can remember the classic Sega Channel, may it rest in peace. Well, I'll be honest with you all, I begun playing the serious Sega RPGs in the middle 90s, NOT as most of the classic players did with the cartridges in the early 90s on their official release dates. The fact is I had played some older Sega games in the earlier stages of my life, and a lot of SNES. But finally, I had gotten the Sega Channel in 1996.

Ahhh the SEGA Channel, again I will say it... rest in peace my fine friend, my actual GOD when I was younger. It gave me and many other people access to many fine Sega games for a whole month, everyone sure hated Februrary the 28 day month, that's for sure!! But... The Sega Channel introduced me to a WIDE list of games, many I will always remember, I sure loved that beautiful list of eight catergories on it, but I especially loved "The Dungeon" which usually contained two or four even of classical RPG games for the Sega. A few times it would feature The Immortal, Light Crusader, Landstalker, Phantasy Star II, III, and IV, Shining Force I and II, and a few other titles. Well it really made me get all the cartridges, and I must give the Sega Channel a true thumbs up for being a great classic source of gaming.

August 1st, 1996 was the actual day I saw Rings of Power enter the Sega Channel "The Dungeon" and I begun playing it... hard game, hard indeed... but I felt a sensation like no other RPG <By then I had played numerous of the rpgs> and kept playing, truly attaching myself to the game, and still despite all this... had done very meager to even progress in the game. While I write this I have an image pop into my head of when I first ever was able to get "Slash the Knight" on my team, indeed it lifts my soul to thrill remembering that day. Well when August ended, that was the last time Rings of Power was ever on the Sega Channel... I was depressed indeed, I had formed a bond with Buc... and was saddened that I believed I would never see him or ever get the Rings of Power again, many dreams I had about adventuring with Buc.

The months to come, I always waited for Rings of Power to return, but it NEVER CAME BACK TO SEGA CHANNEL, and it was dearly depressing how it never would go back to my playing hands... I was truly sad to lose it.

In early 1997 however, the day of love and exhiliration of adventure had returned when I picked up <the actual cartridge you see> from a Wegman's store, Janurary 22nd, 1997... rented it, then begged to buy it and was able to have it bought... I played for many months, and I had done much, much better in it. I was able to progress to gain every member of my party, had the instruction booklet <yet I never cheated> and finally gained every Ring of Power... fought a final battle, and restored the Rod of Creation to Nexus... and was witnessed to the ULTIMATE BEST ENDING OF AN RPG I'VE EVER SEEN, and the best reward as well... eternal gameplay after you win, to explore and adventure through the lands holding the rod... as the ruler of the world.

I still have it, still play it... and throughout the future years of course, played other rpgs... but was always glad to have Rings of Power at my side. Rings of Power... the ultimate game of RPGS.
