Characters

The characters of Shining Force, the rating system is once again in effect here! 10 is the best, and 1 is the worst.

Max- Rating: 10- Description: To me, Max is the god of Shining Force when he becomes a Hero, especially if he gets high HP and powerful attack. He's the best character to me, but don't let him die in battle, or else you lose!

Luke- Rating: 5- Description: Luke is good, in the beginning mainly he's almost as good as Max. However then he tends to sink in HP value, and he's terrible against magic casters. Promote him into a Gladiator and he'll almost be as good as Gort.

Ken- Rating: 4- Description: Ken is... okay, but his meager defense overall will weaken his ability to be a great Paladin like Mae and Arthur. He has high HP value however and some nice attack.

Tao- Rating: 7- Description: I feel Tao is the best Wizard due to her overall better stats than Anri other than MP, but they're both close. I feel also feel that Blaze is an underrated spell, it can do some great damage... as she can have BLAZE LEVEL 4!

Anri- Rating: 8- Description: The bester wizard, period thanks to Freeze level 4, and uses a larger majority of spells.

Hans- Rating: 4- Description: Hans isn't a terrible archer, but he is easily bested when you get Diane.

Lowe- Rating: 7- Description: Something good about Lowe, he's tough for a healer type. He isn't as good as Torasu with healing, but he's still vital enough to take some shots and perhaps even deliver some as well.

Gong- Rating: 6- Description: Gong is terrible in the beginning, but if you put the time into training him, he's not bad.

Gort- Rating: 7- Description: Gort is king of the gladiators! More HP and power than Luke, he's just better than Luke to be frank.

Mae- Rating: 9- Description: The goddess of Shining Force and the best Paladin, super hp and great defense, and good attack. She is the daughter of Varios, and you get her early! Train her hard, she's just plain great.

Khris- Rating: 3- Description: Khris is not worth training if you use Lowe.

Arthur- Rating: 8- Description: Arthur has MAGIC, and he's one of the best Paladins you can have! Not a lot of HP, but other than that, he's REALLY good to have.

Balbaroy- Rating: 5- Description: I've never seemed to like the Bird Men, they have terrible defense and HP.

Amon- Rating: 5- Description: See Balbaroy.

Diane- Rating: 7- Description: I've found her to be the best range attacker, and she's DEFINITELY better than Lyle and Hans, I still prefer meleers and spellcasters over Archers though.

Zylo- Rating: 9- Description: Zylo gets BONUS points for having so much HP and attack/defense for a non weapon user. He's even stronger than Adam and Gong! He's one of the BEST! Use him until the end.

Pelle- Rating: 6- Description: Pelle... I don't use him, and I doubt you will either.

Jogurt- Rating: 1- Description: Jogurt... how cute! That's about all he's good for though, the Jogurt ring is just plain useless to me.

Kokichi- Rating: 7- Description: This old man has some power for a range fighter! He's not as good as Diane, but close.

Vankar- Rating: 8- Description: Vankar's one of the best Paladins to me. Brute and strong, with crappy defense. Despite that, I like his HP and attack!

Guntz- Rating: 3- Description: Guntz... low HP and hard to train, he's worse than Gong!

Domingo- Rating: 7- Description: Domingo is good for only one thing, and that is called "Freeze Level 4".

Earnest- Rating: 6- Description: Average Paladin.

Lyle- Rating: 7- Description: A duplicate of Kokichi.

Bleu- Rating: 7- Description: BLEU! You got to love having this dragon on your team, maybe his HP is a bit low but he's got some good attack.

Musashi- Rating: 9- Description: Tank. The tank, the fighter, the noble MUSASHI. He is right next to Max in ultimate POWER.

Alef- Rating: 6- Description: Bolt Level 4, need I say more? No I don't, because that's all Alef is good for.

Torasu- Rating: 9- Description: The best healer in Shining Force.

Adam- Rating: 6- Description: Adam is like Gong, not bad and not great.

Hanzou- Rating: 9.5- Description: The second best character of Shining Force. Hanzou has some BRUTAL stats, and is REALLY quick, and HE'S GOT MAGIC! What a great combination.
