Sword of Vermilion, is it a special game?

In some aspects yes, it has some fun gameplay and it being an action rpg it sparked more interest than usual rpgs would I presume.

Was SoV ever popular?

Actually I don't think it was, I never heard much of how good it was and haven't seen great ratings for it online.

What is SoV about?

Long ago... the land was stricken by a terrible age. The evil King Tsarkon attacked the peaceful kingdom of Excalabria and destroyed it. During the brutal attack, King Erik summoned his servant Blade, to slip out a secret passageway with the young Prince. 18 years later, Tsarkon is destroying many lands and will stop at nothing to defeat the prince, even though he has no idea where the prince is at. Your story begins when you reach the village of Wyclif, where your adopted father Blade is dying out of sickness of old war wounds...

Powerful story actually!

The story is quite gripping, not the dialogue but the whole entire purpose. This is one of those King games that are interesting, but it's all about your main character.

Is the game hard?

I have found SoV to be extremely difficulty with it's puzzles when you cannot find the map you need for the certain area, and all the monsters you must fight can get QUITE PUMMELING. Unlike Street Fighter II, SoV is HARD.
