Characters

Joao Franco, loyal to Portugal, by far the most popular character of Uncharted Waters II. When you start off as him, he is completely inexperienced in Navigation and Combat, which makes his adventure very delightful as you can see him grow and grow! I rate Joao the best Uncharted Waters II character overall for his intelligence/courage/swordplay and powerful allies, Joao rules! Joao is sent off to the seas to discover "The Secret of Atlantis" but his storyline begins to unfold more and more with every passing event and scenario!

Catalina lacks the intelligence bonuses and skills that Joao has, but is more deadly with the blade in the beginning of the game, her navigational skill is also nice, not to mention starting off with a Galleon! Catalina has heard rumors of the Franco Portugeuse fleet being responsible for the disapperance of her beloved and brother, so she instantly seeks revenge on them, and personally I feel she followed a rumor too quickly but nothing stops Catalina it seems in spirit!

Pietro is the Adventurer of the game, he has been loaded with debts by his family and his friend Pierto brings along a ship with good news of a sponsor to be able to adventure in lands, report findings and make his fortune, something he has always dreamed of! Pietro's skills leave something to be desired, but he can improve like everybody.

Ernst is one of the most interesting characters of the game, this is the ULTIMATE adventurer of the game, and yes it beats Pietro due to Ernst needing to explore the "ENTIRE" map of the world! His goal after his friend Mercator supplies him with money and a ship, is to make a map with his cartographer skills of the entire world, as more and more things happen that make him realize how valuable life really is. Ernst is alot of fun to play.

Ali Vendaz... the TRADER of the game. If you can play the game as Ali, then you will have no severe trouble in making money with even trading with other characters. Ali after an odd twist of fate enables him to make his fortune by a ship falling into the hands of his friend. Ali is the money maker of the game, a Trader, nothing more.

Otto, like Catalina and Joao is the third military/fighter type of the game. Otto is good with cannons and guns with ship battling, but he is probably second when it comes to swordplay with Joao. Otto is on a secret mission for his king to defeat the "Invincible Spanish Fleet".
